The purpose of our stay was to visit Sequoia. We spent our days up in the park & came back to our room to eat & relax. RIVER: Having the river right outside the room was the best! We swam & played in the water. Just be mindful of the currents & play safely. There are very safe areas & areas where you could get hurt. We watched others for a bit & talked to some locals that gave us info on how to play safely in the water. It was beautiful & peaceful to listen to & watch the river (straight from your room or from the many relaxing areas set up on property). We were told that there are times when the river is not swimmable (too rough or too low), so if that is something you want to be able to do, I would inquire about that when booking. ROOM: The room had everything we could need. We didn't cook, but made use of the fridge & freezer (to hold our bagged ice for our cooler & to freeze the water in our water reservoirs for hiking,) all of the glasses, pates & cutlery. Beds were very comfortable, the view was amazing. The room can get warm due to the large windows & afternoon sun, but the air worked well when cranked all the way up. Nice towels & plenty of them. Everything was clean! I appreciated the travel coffee cups with lids. COMMUNICATION: Mars, the owner, had excellent communication. I appreciated getting info on the weather, park, services around town, etc. She also responded quickly to questions. Our whole family loved our stay!

What a wonderful refuge after a long day of hiking at the park! We loved sitting outside listening g to the stream cascading through the river rock. Our “room” was more like an apartment with multiple, cozy rooms. Plus, the service was excellent. I would love to return!

I cannot believe I have not left a review yet. Been staying here on and off since 2018 when I first visited Sequoia National park. Stayed here with both friends and family over the years and the experience has been top notch every time. The owner Mars is super helpful, friendly and communicates exceptionally and is always available whenever you need help with anything. The rooms themselves are very well kept with each one having its own unique decor and appeal. Stayed in smaller studio room, the Master Suite and Birdwatch cottage over the years and I can honestly stay I will not ever stay anywhere else as long as this place is open. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone visiting Sequoia to consider staying here - if you’re on the fence, don’t hesitate - you won’t be disappointed. If I had to nitpick (for a balanced review) - note that there is a 2x night minimum with some rooms with 1x night deposit in advance so if you are not sure about your visit or don’t have firm plans, maybe you need to consider this place for another time.

The master suite was so lovely! We traveled with our kids and they had a ball on the river beach, and the sounds of the river were so soothing and tranquil. Mars put so much care and love into the decor and landscaping. It was an excellent getaway!!

This unique find was like landing in a magical universe! First, communication with Mars was easy, prompt, and thorough which is very reassuring when heading to an unfamiliar location. We rented the Master Suite which was delightful! The bed in the master room was comfortable and the large beautiful bathroom was a bonus! But the true highlight was the location of the Riverhouse, which is on the most scenic sandy beach riverfront we have ever seen. We had the wonderful sounds of the rushing water through the huge flat rocks which then settled into a tranquil swimming area. In the background were the mountains where we spotted horses grazing. The entire property has multiple sitting areas with umbrellas, tables, beach chairs, etc., provided, but all can also be enjoyed from the private balconies as well. There are gorgeous flowers throughout the property. Words fall short when describing this property. It was a stay that we will never forget.
